![]() Even with melee weapons there would be blood stains. It's hard to believe that the Reavers took the time to get a bucket, mop and scrub brush after brutally raping, murdering and skinning the whole crew.It wasn't until the Big Damn Movie that we saw Reavers as Axe-Crazy psychos, it very well could have been a Retcon since the show was so short. This episode was our first real introduction to how the Reavers operate. This one assumes it was just to give a proper Mary Celeste vibe to the scene and try not to think too hard about how it fits with the Reavers.Perhaps the passengers of the colony ship saw the Reaver ship coming and all immediately dropped what they were doing, locking themselves in the cargo bay, hoping the Reavers would be unable to find them / get to them. They also don't tend to care about wrecking anything other than people. That would have left few signs of a struggle, or at least ones that couldn't be cleaned up in short order. The Reavers also tend to attack with melee/nonlethal weaponry, and the settlers probably lacked firearms to defend themselves with.I wouldn't be surprised if the Reavers took pains to clean up after they got finished to lure in rescuers the entire setup stinks of them acting to deliberately terrify the rescuers, possibly causing them to panic and flee and thus trigger the bomb that would disable them and leave them open for a follow-up raid. The fact that they can fly ships and set up bombs to trap rescuers should be a clear sign of that. Reavers aren't exactly subtle, but they aren't stupid.Did everybody just get up and leave the galley to go hide in the cargo bay, while the Reavers went directly there without bothering to search anywhere else? But there was a struggle, or ought to have been - they were attacked! By enemies not known for their ninja-like stealth and subtlety, I might add. In "Bushwhacked", we get a look at the galley of the ghost ship where trays of half-eaten food remain on the table someone (Zoe, I think) says there are no signs of a struggle.Mal would be against carrying large sums of money or valuable cargo for any extended period of time. ![]() All of this after paying the crew their respective cuts.įor my money they accepted they couldnt sell it them selves and sold it for pennies on the dolar to one of their contacts or unloaded it descretely. Which was enough for Food, Repairs and Fuel. To put their currency into perspective the first job in the Firefly series they sold a years worth of food and antibiotic suppliments enough for a whole settlement for only $200 (Platinum). Or at least keep Primary Buffer Panels attached. Its possible they are still holding or unloaded the Lassiter for far less than the 1mil promised or they wouldn't need to steal anymore. That could explain all of the upgrades to Serenity. The one thing everyone seems to be forgetting about is Jubal Early's ship as illegal salvagers and theives the crew would not just leave it in the middle of nowhere they either sold the ship or sold its location to a third party. It seems reasonably likely that that sort of work would require a lot of money, the kind of cash you'd get from selling a priceless artifact, even at a whomping discount. I will not have youĪs to the proceeds of the sale, by the time of the film Serenity (supposedly set several months later) we see that the ship has been radically overhauled with a much larger dining area, a dedicated ship's kitchen, a medical bay with a fancy new medi-bed and all sorts of scanners and gizmos, not to mention that the exterior seems to be sporting a new wing design and the flashy new hover-mule. Just 'cause you helped out on the job don't make you a crook. INARA: I know people in the highest ranks of. ![]() ![]() MAL: I done thinking about that, and you ought to stay clear. MAL: It's like something out of a fable! I've got this priceless artifact, the biggest score of my unseemly career, and no one will Inara seemed to think that she knew people who could afford it, so it's possible that one of her contacts ended up taking it off them for a fat fee. The funds went to purchase a fancy new mule. To find a buyer for so major an item, but a buyer they did find, and ![]() Rich gent name of Durran from his estate on Belerophon.
